The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) and the Illinois Department of Innovation and Technology (DoIT) worked in partnership with Google and Quantiphi to implement an AI feature to the IDES website and call center to help streamline the process of filing for unemployment insurance. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in an unprecedented demand for unemployment benefits. Quantiphi led the engineering and worked with the State to develop all aspects of the project, successfully deploying the chatbot feature to the website and a virtual agent to the call center in four weeks.
